Games I completed in 2020

Seen a few people do this, so here’s all the games I beat in 2020! (If you want to keep up with games I’m playing / completed, add me on Backloggery! (backloggery.com/nicktendowii)

Starting in January with…

Resident Evil 2 (N64)

The best way to play the original game thanks to the analogue controls! Really impressed by this port, the graphics looked good with the expansion pack, and it even has all the FMV scenes! (albeit very compressed)

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD (Xbox One)

Picked this one up for my Monkey Ball video I made in February and had a great time with it, despite the criticism. I also picked up and finished the game again on the switch later

Panzer Dragoon (Remake)

Bit of a disappointment, I was so excited when I first saw this announced at E3 2019, but it turned out to be a bit of a simple remake, it seemed easier than the original and the controls weren’t as responsive. Apparently its been updated since though

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Really amazing update of a great game, some graphical bugs but the game was great, looking forward to seeing how they take it forward with part 2!

Whip! Whip! (Switch)

Picked this one up in a sale and was pleasantly surprised, it’s a fun single screen puzzle game!

Trials of Mana

Amazing remake of the SNES original. Graphics weren’t great and it all felt a bit budget, but I really enjoyed it none the less! Fun gameplay and environments and loved the combat and music, even if the story wasn’t that engaging.

Tales Of Berseria

Got this the year before at MCM and finally got round to playing it! Definitely one for he best RPG’s I’ve played! Loved all the characters and how they all interact with each other. Good battle system and an interesting story too!

The Last Of Us Part II

A great game with a very controversial plot. Not saying any more than that… 😬

Rockman & Forte Mirai kara no Chōsensha  (WonderSwan)

This was one of the games I got in Japan earlier in the year. Great lesser known entry in the series! Did a review of it here if you want to see how it plays! – https://youtu.be/f1wYDqUVupQ

Kero Blaster (Switch)

Finally got around to playing this after hearing about it for many years, great game, although I don’t really like the ultra floaty platforming physics..

Trackmania

Not sure if this counts as beaten, but i’ve been keeping up with the campaign courses since it was released! Loved playing this and the excitement before release got me to finally make a video on the series too! (https://youtu.be/AKZ5pSwXaz0)

Quest Arrest (Game Boy)

Great little homebrew game by @TheRetroRoomRoo The first physical GB Studio game I got this year and I really enjoyed it! Interesting gameplay and premise and a refreshingly adult script! Here’s the review I did: https://youtu.be/8A_d4NiS03g

Super Mario 64 (as part of SM3D All Stars)

A classic game hampered by the switch controller. For some reason I find the game a lot harder to control compared to on the N64! Think the analogue stick is too sensitive.. still a great game though!

Dragonborne (Game Boy)

Another great gameboy homebrew game! This time by @spacebot_dev

A surprisingly big and detailed RPG for the system, really impressed by the scale of this one, also did a video here:

Midnight Castle Succubus  (Steam)

Kind of bought this one as a joke, but it turned out to be a really good Castlevania 2 clone! Played it to 100% completion too! Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s a hentai game!

A Short Hike

A really fun and relaxing indie game! Loved the progression of collecting feathers to be able to get a bit further each time! Really nice graphics too.

Astro’s Playroom (PS5)

Amazing short tech demo of what the PS5 can do. Wasn’t impressed at all by the graphics, but the game is fun! Nice use of the controllers enhanced rumble too!
