Most Wanted Third Party Games For Switch.

July 12, 2017

We all know the Switch will be amazing for first party Nintendo games, but, like the WiiU, we also know it will be missing many of the games that come out on other consoles. Again it is under powered compared to the big two, XB One and PS4. This time however, Nintendo seems to be getting a much better reception and third parties are interested in bringing their games over! It also helps that there is now support for Unreal 4. Which has already been used to great effect with games such as Snake Pass!

Some Muli-Plat games are already out, or coming soon, such as Rime, Steep, Payday 2, Rayman Legends etc. A lot of games haven’t been announced for Switch though, so here’s a few games that I would like to see make the jump back onto Nintendo’s console.

Kingdom Hearts 3.
This would be the fourth time a Kingodm Hearts game is released on a Nintendo Console, but the first time a main game in the series has been on one. I can’t really see this happening but I can hope! I’d also love to see a release of 1.5 and 2.5 on the Switch for people who want to get up to speed with the series before diving into 3. It’s being made using Unreal, so porting the game shouldn’t be too challenging either!

Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey
Or any of the Atelier games going forward. I used to be a big fan of the series back in the PS2 days. The switch to 3D graphics kind of put me off a bit but the most recent games look a lot better and, more importantly are more fun to play. It would be great if they came to Nintendo’s consoles. The last time we got one was Atelier Annie: Alchemists of Sera Island on the original DS, and that never got a release in the UK!

The Disney Afternoon Collection
It boggles the mind why this hasn’t had a Switch release, especially considering that most of the games in the collection were Nintendo games to begin with. I can only think it must have been some strange decision somewhere in Disney or Capcom HQ.

Shenmue 3
The most anticipated kickstarter game of the year. (or was is it Yooka-Laylee?) is coming soon to XB1 and PS4. No Switch release though which is a huge shame as I’m sure many Nintendo fans played and loved the first two on Dreamcast. I know I did!

A Hat in Time
Another Kickstarter game coming this year, this one seems like such an obvious fit for Nintendo. Taking cues from the best N64 era platformers. It would feel right at home on the Switch. Apparently someone on Reddit sent the company an email and got a generic response, basically saying to keep checking facebook and twitter for news of a console release.

Freedom Planet 2
The original was one of my favourite games on the WiiU eShop. The sequel looks set to be even better but so far, a Switch release hasn’t been announced. I feel like this is one of the more likely games on this list. Fingers Crossed!
